What do you enjoy most about netball?
A friendly environment. It created opportunities for me from studying
a scholarship to exploring the world outside my village and being a
brand ambassador for Mizuno. A tool for stress management.
Netball surrounds me with so much love from teammates, funs and
sponsors which gives me a reason to live. Diversity and inclusiveness
– netball has created opportunities for everyone regardless of
gender, race or background.

Shamera Sterling
What do you look for in a netball shoe?
Grip of the shoes, stability, support and weight.

What other sports do you play or follow?
I played basketball, handball, high jump, volleyball and netball.
Burning ambition?
My ambition is to provide homes for the homeless people and be
a voice for the voiceless.
If you didn’t play Netball, what do you think you would have done?
Without netball I would have been a nobody. Probably a girl
without a future. What I am today is because of netball.

Why should young people get involved with Netball?
Creates opportunities for everyone and empowers you to be
